Belmont – The Most Connected Community in Southwest Calgary

Belmont is a popular new community located in southwest Calgary designed for you and your family to get the most out of life. Belmont is ideally located amongst an abundance of amenities and has been coined the ‘most connected community’ in south Calgary.  Belmont is easily accessible off Macleod Trail by Sheriff King Street, 194th Street & 210 Avenue which makes it in an ideal location for commuting. With many access points, there is no need to worry about traffic when planning your day.

One of the most loved features of the community is the many planned pathways and playgrounds which, when complete, will fully link the community together. Take a stroll through the many nearby parks and pathways, visit the farmers’ market, or simply grab some groceries from the nearby Sobey’s for a BBQ. It’s all there for you in Belmont!

Belmont provides a wide variety of home styles from townhomes, from our Belwood Park project to laned homes and front drive homes all with a unique architectural theme.  There are also big things coming to Belmont such as planned facilities like schools, a fire station, mixed use site and commercial/retail complex coming to the southwest corner of the neighbourhood.

Let’s explore everything Belmont has to offer.

Shopping, Restaurants & Recreation:

If you’re looking for urban convenience, you’ll find it in Belmont.  Between the local Silverado Shopping Centre, the nearby Shawnessy Shopping Centre and the Shoppes of Bridlewood, there are over 250 stores and shopping destinations. Just within Silverado, a five minute drive from Belmont, you’ll find a variety of conveniences from financial institutions, grocery stores, medical services, as well as a variety of local pubs and eateries.

The Gates of Walden are located seven minutes away and include Save on Foods, Winners, Starbucks, multiple banks, restaurants and a gas station. More shopping can be found in Legacy 10 minutes away which includes the Township Shopping Centre, Legacy Village, Legacy Corner and Legacy Grove with Sobey’s, restaurants, professional services and take-out.

Shawnessy Village is also close by and offers even more commercial and retail opportunities including Canadian Tire, Walmart, CO-OP, Petland, restaurants, movie theatres and a large recreation centre.

Located just behind our Belwood Park townhomes is a recently approved southwest regional athletic complex which will be developed over the next few years and a welcome amenity to Belmont!

Playgrounds and Parks:

The young ones will be delighted with the Mounds of Fun playground, which is a one-of-a-kind playground consisting of large colorful climbing hills, double hill slide, tons of unique climbing features. preschool climber with slide and steps and much more. In addition, it was named the #3 Playground in Calgary for 2019!

The Mounds of Fun playground is part of the first phase, with more parks and pathways planned to link the community together as well as a storm pond with paths located at the north entrance of Belmont.

Belmont is also close to many nearby hiking trials and scenic paths. Pine Creek Coule, a 65 acre natural environmental reserve located in the community of Hudson in Creekstone, is right across from Belmont.  And of course, Fish Creek park is only a 10 minute drive away which gives access to endless pathways through nature. Kananaskis Country is a short drive away which provides unlimited access to camping, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and much more.

Schools:

Belmont has two dedicated school sites directly within the community. A timeline for funding and construction of these schools hasn’t been determined by the Province of Alberta and Calgary Board of Education yet, however there are both public and Catholic school options from elementary to senior high close by:

Public Regular Programs (Calgary Board of Education)

  • Elementary – Ron Southern School
  • Junior High – Harold Panabaker School
  • Senior High – Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School

Catholic Regular Programs (Calgary Catholic School District)

  • Elementary – Holy Child
  • Junior High -Holy Child
  • Senior High – All Saints

Roadways and Transit:

Belmont is the only new community surrounded by three arterial roads, with access points from Sheriff King Street, 194th Street and 210th Avenue. With multiple ways to get in and out of the community, it means you won’t have to face traffic just trying to get home or run errands.

Since the community is still in development, accessibility via transit is constantly improving. For now, Somerset/Bridlewood station is just a few minutes north by car and bus routes are a short walk away in the neighboring community of Silverado. A future LRT station is planned and it will be just 500 meters away from Belmont Street, ideally located between 194th Street and 210th Avenue.

Whatever you’re looking for in a new community, Belmont hits the mark with easy accessibility to shopping, parks, roadways and future additions.
